Ferrari is set to unveil the 2013 Ferrari California, which has lost a bit of weight and put on some muscle. Added power comes from the upgraded 4.3-liter V8 engine, good for 483 horsepower and 372 lb-ft of torque — an increase of 30 horsepower and 15 lb-ft of torque. This enables the vehicle to go from rest to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. It’s also benefited from shedding about 66 pounds from its predecessor’s 3,825-pound curb weight, thanks to an upgraded chassis built with “cutting-edge aluminum fabrication techniques.”
Finally, a new Handling Speciale package offers stiffer springs, a 10 percent quicker steering ratio and faster magneto-rheological damper control system. The 2013 Ferrari California is scheduled to debut next month at the Geneva Motor Show. via: WCF
