We’re back!
You guys know we love our concept vehicles, and have been posting them heavily since AA first started. But most of the concepts we share rarely see the light of day, so we have to settle for what they could’ve been for all of the car-lovers out there. But today, we have a nice little treat that we believe will break that trend. And soon..
BMW’s new X2 is the latest lifestyle vehicle born from a concept to join the German giant’s product stable. Built for the urban dweller, the car manages to fuse the fast-moving body language and low-slung proportions of a coupe with the robust construction of an X model. Or as BMW puts it simply: it’s a “sporty vehicle with bold character.”
Clearly contoured volumes and subtle edges create a front-end impression with presence and sporting appeal in abundance. The powerful back-end, meanwhile, uses a slim rear window and horizontal lines to reduce the perceived height of the car. Effortlessly, the design melds apparent contradictions into a single coherent statement, making it perfect for daily city living, but equally capable of long-distance trips.
Although clad in camouflage tape, in the gallery above we can get a feel for how the vehicle seamlessly integrates itself with a Metropolitan environment. We haven't heard much detail as to when this is going to be released, but we are definitely staying tuned.
