Kicks Flow: New Balance Spring/Summer 2015 996 MRL

Whether we like to admit it or not, the aesthetic is really all we care about with kicks. If it looks good, we want it. And sometimes we don’t need anything too complicated to define as dope. Something as basic as a colorway can make all the difference in the world on a shoe for us. The details, whether small or large can transform what we consider fresh.

New Balance’s latest iteration of the 996 silhouette is a far cry from its origins in 1987. The MRL variant for 2015 offers no-stitch construction on the toe box and vamp, completing the technically savvy aesthetic, while the shoe’s athletic sensibilities remain intact. A set of two-tone colorways are set to hit shelves thus far in navy blue and orange editions, both equipped with REVlite tooling. To pick up a pair, head over to Afew and browse the full 996 offerings.
