Kicks Flow: Concepts x ASICS Gel Lyte V

Groovy..

Don’t say we didn’t warn you. As the days progress, more and more dopeness continues to drop for sneakerheads and collectors alike. This time of year is always the hardest in regard to saving money, because there’s just so much flyness dropping. So we basically cater to the undisciplined, and don’t really mind playing the role of bad influence. Walk with us.

Boston retailer Concepts has joined forces with ASICS to produce a striking two-tone Gel Lyte V, showcasing a cement grey suede upper accented with contrast red at the collar, tongue and medial side stripes. Special features include speckled dark grey midsoles and 3M reflective detailing on the shoe’s quarter panels laces. Speaking of laces, the shoe comes with red, turquoise, grey and black sets, offering an opportunity for a subtle bit of personalization. The Concepts x ASICS Gel Lyte V is set to launch August 2nd at Concepts, both in-store and online.

Architecture: Nova Lima House by S+A Brazil

Righteous..

Brazil has seen some pretty major construction projects recently but the Nova Lima House by architects S+A Brazil could give a lot of them a run for their money. Not so much a house as a small private hotel, this vast residential complex sprawls out over four separate blocks, each with their own distinct purpose.

Block one features no less than eight individual bedroom suites, along with a studio and restroom. Block two is made up of a home cinema and heated swimming pool. Block three includes the kitchen, spa and children’s play area. Meanwhile, block four is a staff quarters, and includes its own private residence. The tonal browns, ochres and umbers of the interior are achieved, in part, by the use of local Canga de Minérios stone, which features extensively throughout the walls of the property.

This is complemented by luxurious hardwood flooring and a latticed metal roof laid with reflective glass panels to reduce sun glare. All it’s missing is its own football pitch.

Kicks Flow: UBIQ x ASICS GT-Cool "Nightside"

Radical..

There was a serious teaser earlier this week that smashed, and UBIQ unveiled that it had taken the wraps off its collaboration with ASICS. The resulting UBIQ x ASICS GT-Cool “Nightshade” represents the Philadelphia retailer’s admiration for mother nature, as well as an “affinity for the dark hours.”

Forest green is the primary shade, finishing the nubuck upper with neon green accents on the laces, lateral side panels and right above the contrast white midsole. Hits of metallic silver at the heel and ankle padding add a bit of flash, along with reflective 3M at the ASICS signature stripes and underneath the toe box. The kicks are set to launch July 26th at UBIQ.

Kicks Flow: New Balance M1400HB

Serious..

We already know that New Balance‘s literary-inspired Connoisseur Authors Collection features one pair of the brand’s classic 1400 silhouette, but it appears another one has joined its ranks. This one just happens to be the new Balance M1400HB. It carries a tonal black mesh and suede upper with accenting hits of red at the tongue tag, midsole and leather “N” side branding.

Contrast white laces and what looks to be a reflective 3M at the heel tab, as well as a printed skyline sockliner, round out the details. Like its olive green counterpart, this pair has yet to hit store shelves here in the U.S. But in the meantime, it’s available through overseas retailers like Up There.

Kicks Flow: PUMA GV Special “Exotic” Pack

People sleep on Puma. There’s no other way to say it. But it’s one of those brands that people have been sleeping on since it was super hot and on fire in the 80’s. Lately though, rappers like Casey Veggies have been showing Puma a lot of love on social media, and his followers are starting to follow in that love and support the classic brand. Times are changing and that’s a good thing for a brand like this.

PUMA has revived its Guillermo Vilas tennis shoe with the new GV Special “Exotic” pack. An ode to the Argentinian player, the GV Special shoe was his on-court trainer of choice, launching in 1981. The archive tennis shoe has been re-released as part of the “A Touch of Class” concept, which celebrates PUMA’s history in tennis. Dropping in premium ostrich leathers in classic colors of white, black, burgundy and blue, you can pick up a pair from UK retailer size?.
