Up next for Fall 2014, Nike presents its brand new Air Max Lunar 90 PRM QS “Suits and Ties” pack. The new take on the iconic running shoe features a series of interesting eye-catching fabrics based off traditional suits, jackets and assorted professional attire.

The outcome is anything but traditional looking sneakers. The bold fabrics remind of power suits and ties from the ’80s and Wall Street. Overall the pack includes four versions of the sneaker, all available now from Culture Kings.

Vicenza-based artist Ale Giorgini has created his own love-themed take on a variety of pop-culture cartoons and reference points. Giorgini began the project as a personal one about love and it incorporates a series of famous couples and characters recreated by the artist himself through his distinctive illustrative style.

Familiar faces include Charlie Brown and Snoopy; Homer and Marge Simpson; Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader in the aptly titled, “May The Love Be With You”; Popeye and Olive, Superman and Lois Lane; and many more. Architecture: Torcuato House by BAK arquitectos

Righteous..

When looking at the Torcuato House from across its central courtyard, it’s almost too much to take in at once. Like an MC Escher painting: stairs, openings and passageways seem to emerge at you from every corner of your vision (typical of BAK’s style). Equally, the uneven surfaces create a bewildering patchwork of light and shadow, heightening the overall sense of confusion. But step inside and everything makes a lot more sense.

A high-ceilinged living room with sliding doors opens out in two directions – one onto an ornamental pond, adding a new level of tranquility to the indoor space; meanwhile, the master bedroom overlooks the leafy, forested garden through its generous windows. Earthy tones spread throughout the property complement an iconic selection of furniture by the Eames brothers, Eero Saarinen and Ludvig Mies van der Rohe, rounding off what is an impeccably designed modern living space. That’s certainly no illusion.

Kicks Flow: Nike Fall 2014 Free Flyknit Chukka

Nike has unleashed a new quickstrike of their ever-popular Flyknit Chukka sneaker, this time sitting comfortably atop a Free sole unit. Having previously been teased all the way back in October 2012 as part of the HTM project, the sneaker has fast become one of the more popular models in Nike’s lifestyle stable, unusual given its relative high price and unusual construction.

A trio of colorways are made available, with “Gold Liquid”, “Wolf Grey” and “Hype Grape” all dressing the hi-tech sneaker in rich multicolored hues. Finished with crisp white sole units, the sneakers will be available August 28th at Packer Shoes.

Kicks Flow: Packer Shoes x Saucony Grid 9000

Radical..

Briefly introduced a few weeks ago via video, we’ve got a more detailed look at the most recent collaboration between Packer Shoes and Saucony. While a lot of collaborative efforts these days might look similar, because of certain trends, we always enjoy the different take on shoe design by Packer Shoes. Different, yet it has very much become a signature of theirs to be more athletic, more innovative in their choice of color and overall still somewhat classic American sports driven, the outcome is always interesting.

Make sure to check out their recent collaborations with ASICS and Reebok. With Saucony they present a new version of the Grid 9000. It was inspired by the classic ’90s Polo Ralph Lauren ‘Snow Beach’ pullover worn by Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon in the ‘Can It Be All So Simple’ video and features yellow neoprene panels, red accents and navy suede to brings everything back into balance. The sneaker releases today in limited numbers in-store only at Foot Patrol.

Kicks Flow: Nike Air Huarache “Petrol/Limette”

Serious..

Some kicks just killed everything in their way when they initially dropped. I remember being a kid and hearing about certain sneakers that were about to come out, and seeing how people were going crazy for them once they did. It was like we all celebrated the arrival of these new pieces that we’d rock and shut everything down in. One of those kicks back then, were the Huarache from Nike. You couldn’t front on these back then, and you can’t now either.

Nike presents us with another impeccable iteration of their Air Huarache silhouette with the release of this “Petrol/Limette” colorway. The sneaker features a unique petrol blue pebbled leather and neoprene upper, black detailing throughout, an ostrich-textured toe guard, and limette green accents. Additional details include matching laces and a stark white midsole. The Nike Air Huarache “Petrol/Limette” is now available at Afew-Store.

Top Shelf: Confederate X132 Hellcat Speedster

There are some motorcycles for which only the term “badass” will suffice; the X132 Hellcat is one of them. It’s manufactured by the small-but-perfectly-formed Confederate Motorcycles, producers of strictly limited jaw-dropping bikes like this one, all handmade at their workshop in Alabama.

The 121 BHP Hellcat features a 2,100cc fuel-injected engine, 5-speed drag racing transmission and looks that could melt asphalt clean off the road. It’s build from carbon fiber and billet aluminum, so it’ll fly off the mark like Usain Bolt on a bottle rocket, and you can own one for the (comparatively) small amount of $60,000. Only 65 will ever be produced, so stake your claim right here.

Kicks Flow: New Balance 576 “Punk & Mod” Pack

New Balance‘s Made in England program pays tribute to the country’s history of rebellious subcultures, with a pair of themed 576 running sneakers. The “Punk” sneaker pays homage to the subculture’s historic love of tartan, harking back to the days of the Sex Pistols and Vivienne Westwood, while the “Mod” sneaker features a nod toward the culture’s love of fur trimmed parkas with, you guessed it, a fur trimmed sneaker.

The “Mod” is finished in drab khaki in a nod to the scene’s love of vintage military apparel, and both sneakers sport Union Jacks upon the tongue, as ever made to the highest standard at the brand’s Flimby factory. Both sneakers are available now at Titolo.

Architecture: Modern Country House by Gregory Phillips Architects

This substantial modern country house by Gregory Phillips Architects is set within twelve acres of elevated grounds on the banks of River Thames in Berkshire, England. The layout of the house evolved from a protected centralized courtyard flanked by glazed single-aspect rooms affording magnificent countryside views, inspired by traditional country houses with adjoining stable yards.

This evolved into a restrained plan of generously-proportioned spaces surrounding a flint-walled, inner-courtyard linked by galleried corridors faced with timber panelling and stone floors. The contemporary flint-work used within the courtyard reinterprets the flint-work within the surrounding village, and in particular the medieval church that is within view of the property.

Entry to the house itself is made by crossing an enclosed reflecting pool leading into a double height space, from here the building is predominantly glazed to face the far-reaching views with terracing at each level. The gardens adjacent to the house incorporate an infinity edged swimming pool and a tennis court; the landscaping follows a simple, semi-formal layout which leads on to the extensive grounds and open countryside.
