Top Shelf: Rolls-Royce Bespoke Wraith & Dawn

We’re definitely on our inspiration flow these days at AA, so ride with us on this one. The weather is beautiful, so let’s get back to these vehicles. Rolls-Royce has taken the wraps off of two bespoke models inspired by the Italian resort town of Porto Cervo, located on the coast of northern Sardinia and home to the luxury automaker's summer studio, open until September 2016.

First up is the bespoke Wraith, done up in a two-tone silver exterior meant to evoke dusk, with a subtle purple feature line hinting at the distinctive interior. The cabin is upholstered with ostrich leather and finished in varying shades of purple, blue, slate and black, conveying the sense of calm that pervades nighttime Porto Cervo.

The Wraith is joined by the similarly bespoke Rolls-Royce Dawn, finished in an Emerald Green paint job inspired by the Porto Cervo seascape. The exterior aesthetic is matched with a seashell and green leather interior, with ornaments made from teak wood. The most distinctive feature, however, has to be the emeralds and mother of pearl, set in white gold and placed on the fascia of the dash, completing the "visual harmony" of the vehicle. Both of these are surely top-shelf and the kind of life-changing chariots built for those who can’t settle for less.

Fly Season: KITH x New Era - Yankees x Mets Subway Series Collection

Radical..

As a native New Yorker and lover of all things baseball and New Era, Lord knows I used to spend way too much time in that store, going crazy with my purchases on fitted hats. This habit got so crazy at one point (due to the discount I was getting there) that I was buying hats and forgetting that I had them in the stash. KITH dropped a very dope collabo last year with New Era for my favorite team, the New York Yankees. It was a clean 59FIFTY cap that seriously went with every outfit you could think of. So this year, when we got word of a new collection dedicated to both the Yankees and Mets, in kind of a Subway Series showdown of caps, we were more than excited. Each team cap is going to have three styles, for six total between the two. Two of them will be rendered in their traditional styles, while two will sport reverse color-ways of either team, with all four of these coming finished with the 2000 World Series patch in tow.

The last two are limited to only 144 units each, per team. So you’ll really have to get out there to buy, if you’re serious about getting one or a couple, for that matter. The Mets cap is going to denote the 30th anniversary of the ’86 World Series, while the Yankees cap will have the same for the ’96 World Series (…for which I cried for, when they won. Don’t judge.) They’ll both come equipped with the KITH rose-gold metal plate on the front, with the Series patch on the right side. And just for aesthetic measure, each cap comes in a fresh custom display case, along with game tickets to the Subway Series next month. Very hard to top that.

For those interested in buying, both anniversary caps drop on 7/29, and will only be available in-stores. The Yankees cap will be available at KITH Brooklyn, while the Mets will be available at KITH Manhattan. Customers will pick up their caps at the KITH one-day pop-up shop in Queens at Citi Field on 8/2 and in the Bronx at Yankee Stadium on 8/3. These dates are the gameday’s for the tickets that come with the caps themselves. Both pop-up shops will be stocking the other four caps in limited quantity as well, so don’t sleep on picking those up. The official date for the release of the 2000 World Series caps is this Saturday, 7/30 at both KITH locations, as well as KithNYC.com. You can preview the caps being sported in the lookbook by the Yankee set-up pitcher Dellin Betances and the Mets ace Jacob deGrom. Get to a KITH shop soon to cop one of these, while they last.

Get yours..

Kicks Flow: Nike Flyknit Racer "Volt"

Since the inception of the first Flyknit Sneaker, the sleek running silhouette has continued to dominate the fashion running sneaker trend with its vibrant, cool colorways and street-friendly look. Nike has consistently dropped fire colorway after fire colorway, and the latest Volt/Black release is certainly no exception.

In a throwback to the first edition of the Flyknit Racer, the Black/Volt-White Racer features similar colors to its predecessor; a bright volt throughout. However, Nike opted to remove the black half from the medial side of the shoe in favor of going with a full volt composition in the newest rendition of the upper. The update will also include a new Flyknit weave pattern most noticeable on the toebox; fans of the Oreo V2 Racer will surely rejoice as the pattern is completely identical to its weave.

The bright Volt color is sure to have the Racers as a great statement piece to any neutral summer outfit – coupled with Zoom Air technology packed in the midsole, they make for the ultimate summer companion.

Look for the Black/Volt-White racer to release on Nike.com, Nike Running retailers and select running stores near you soon.

Kicks Flow: Nike Air Yeezy II “Golden Child”

The search for those oh-so-rare kicks just got crazier. Now, we know you all have been out there dropping a lot of money on some great shoes that are exclusive (hopefully some we’ve recommended), and that’s awesome. But there are some kicks that are iconic, and deserve to be sought-after, and prioritized over the others.

John Geiger and LASCO have joined forces for a very special project. Here they present the Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Golden Child,” which will be releasing in very limited quantities. And “limited” may be an understatement here. Don’t sleep on picking these up, as you know how quickly the older models sold out.

According to LASCO, each pair took more than 40 hours to construct from 62 pieces, five types of leather and three different threads. That’s some serious craftsmanship, and worth whatever these will run. As you can see, the result is an all-gold upper boasting multiple leathers, paired with a tonal midfoot strap, matching laces, and a contrasting sole unit underneath. Look for the custom Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Golden Child” to release in very limited quantities on August 13th.

Kicks Flow: BAIT x Diadora x DreamWorks - Felix the Cat

The one thing about sneaker culture that we love, is old-school references. Thing is, you’d have to have a little age on you sometimes to really get what’s being referenced. So in our bag of tricks today (get it?), we have a shoe that resurrects our old feline friend from back in the day, Felix the Cat.

Keeping in line with Felix’s coloring, the shoe arrives in a classic black-and-white colorway. Like the Shrek sneaker, the Felix shoe is a model of the N9000 silhouette, with construction that is a combination of velvet suede and tumbled nubuck. The midsole is adorned in a black speckled print, providing the only portion of the exterior not in solid black or white. Unlike the previous models in this collaborative series, the three brands have created a mini capsule line for Felix the Cat.

Aside from the sneakers, the collection includes a pin set, collectible figures, hats and two types of T-shirts. The shoes are also available in toddler sizes should you need a gift for the smaller members of your family.

The BAIT x Diadora x DreamWorks N9000 Felix the Cat arrives in a limited set of 500, you can enter a raffle to win a pair right here. Move fast on these, so you don’t miss out.
