Kicks Flow: Nike Air Trainer Huarache “Cement City”

Righteous..

I want to take y’all Uptown for a minute, in NYC, early 90’s. Say what you want, but those were the glory days for sneaker heads for my friends and I. We were only kids back then, but a lot of the kicks that make comebacks now, were launching for the first time back then. We’ve kind of been desensitized to kicks these days, because so many models are dropped and classics just keep coming back, in which seems to be every other week. But back then, when you saw something new, it seriously blew your mind. And the Huarache from Nike was definitely one of those that had us going crazy.

Reflecting the “Concrete Jungle” nickname of the Big Apple, a “Cement City” iteration of the pioneering Nike Air Trainer Huarache is on tap for a release everywhere this week. Combining the original Tinker Hatfield-designed cross-training silhouette with a bold new Wolf Grey/Black-Volt color combination, the street-ready design dons a cement-speckled grey upper with black accents and a glow-in-the-dark rubber outsole as “NYC” heel embroidery caps off the look.

Look for the premium Quickstrike to hit select NSW retailers and Nike.com today for $120 USD.

Kicks Flow: Nike Kobe 9 Elite "The Art of Light, Strong and Fast" | Event Recap

We’ve all seen the images before – a bullet through an apple captured by a high-speed camera. That was always pretty cool, but how do you translate that into an actual visual display? With a series of “gates” and an abundance of Flyknit “strings”, Nike Basketball reenacted that quintessential photo into an exhibit for the official launch of Nike Kobe 9 Elite.

A few of us were lucky enough to get the chance to attend the special presentation that took place over the weekend at the historical Moynihan Station in New York City, just across the street from Madison Square Garden. Hosted by Kobe Bryant, who was in town for a Los Angeles Lakers‘ game against the New York Knicks, the exhibit showcased not just the Nike Kobe 9 Elite but an up-close look at the colorways of Kobe 9 Elite “Inspiration”, Kobe 9 Elite “Perspective”, and Kobe 9 Elite “Detail”.

The first Flyknit design for Nike Basketball, the Kobe 9 Elite and all of its variations will be available starting on February 8th with the “Inspiration”, “Perspective”, and “Detail” colorways coming in March of this year.

Skate Life: Nike SB Shelter Skate Park | Berlin

The latest initiative from Nike SB comes in the form of Nike SB Shelter skate park in the heart of Berlin. The huge warehouse space is converted into an ultimate skate park, catering all levels of skateboarders from beginners to professionals.

Created with a vision to facilitate for all forms of street skateboarding, the space is highlighted by numerous ledges, stairs, rails, transition, gaps, banks, and many more. Utilizing the smoothest concrete they can source, the park should be a nice spot to hang out for Berlin locals and visiting skaters. These pics really show how cool this spot is. Expect to see more shots in the near future.
