Top Shelf: Aston Martin – 2011 Aston Martin GT4

Good Moola..

Aston Martin keeps a pretty spectacular balance between performance and luxury. The undeniably English-bred automaker somehow maintains a sense of gentility, even as it turns out more and more G-Force capable vehicles. If, in recent years, Aston’s marquee vehicles (like the One 77) have targeted the Londongrad oligarch set, the automaker is still catering to those who want a stronger racing streak in their conspicuous luxury, with it’s GT4. For 2011, the GT4 keeps the familiar Vantage influence; though the V12 version is the inspiration for the updated racer; it also gets a re-mapped computer, offering more power and torque, plus aerodynamic upgrades that provide brutal downforce.

In it’s several years of production, the Vantage GT4 has been one of the most successful cars in it’s class, in terms of both sales and race results – evidence of how brutal it’s power is, and how beautifully that power is carried in the Aston body. The 2011 GT4 is slated to appear in a number of races, including the Challenge of Great Britain, and it’s very own European GT4 Cup. And while there is no word on pricing or availability yet, some sort of limited release of the GT4 for road use would not be surprising – millionaires do tend to get the cars they want.

Put On: Jay Electronica ft. Jay-Z, The-Dream & Charlotte Gainsbourg – Shiny Suit Theory

YESSUH!!

Jay-Z celebrates the signing of Jay Electronica to his Roc Nation imprint in a proper way by releasing “Shiny Suit Theory”. The track boasts an impressive lineup that boasts the talents of both rappers, crooner The Dream and French chanteuse Charlotte Gainsbourg.

The track features a sample that Pete Rock also used back in '94 for his track with C.L. Smooth, "I Got A Love" on that classic "The Main Ingredient" LP. This track has a great vibe to it too. Check it out below!

Dopeness: From the Platform: Subway Graffiti 1983-1989

CHEAH!!

“From the Platform” is the latest publication to offer a nostalgic review of graffiti in New York. Put together by graffiti writer Paul Cavalieri (who was able to take a wide array of photographs after having learnt much of the Subway timetable), the book stands out from the crown because it concentrates solely on Subway art, created between the mid to late 80’s. Hailed as a golden era of street art, the compilation actually draws from subway graffiti from 1983-1989 when the MTA announced that its fleet was entirely graffiti-free. The book boasts from than 325 color photos across 177 pages and is now available to pre-order from Amazon, with a full release expected in February 2011.

Models & Freshness: Supreme x Vanessa Veasley by Terry Richardson (NSFW)

Good money, indeed..

You’re looking at the latest not-safe-for-work photoshoot from the infamous Terry Richardson. Working with Vanessa Veasley, the shoot was created in promotion of Supreme’s latest apparel and accessory collection and was featured in their recent publication: Supreme Book, Vol. 6.

Featuring a small collection of Supreme products, Veasley steals the show, showcasing her body more prominently than the gear. Typically shot against a plain white background the shoot takes Richardson’s signature style in all its scandalous glory. I don't know what else to say, other than I dig the photography. Let's leave it there..

Peep that behind the scenes video too. Definitely good money, folkers:

Dopeness: Hype Means Nothing iPhone 4 Case

Pretty damn cool..

Hype Means Nothing is the latest brand to produce a case designed to house the iPhone 4. Designed in familiar style, the case is printed with a collage of previous designs as seen on previous HMN apparel pieces. Featuring images of a host of stars from Jay-Z to Barrack Obama to Spongebob Squarepants, each picture has its star-studded subject mime an iconic pair of sunglasses. The case should be available soon at select retailers.

If you love A Tribe Called Quest like I do, doesn't this remind you of the cover to Midnight Marauders a lil' bit? That might be one of the best Hip Hop album covers of all-time. Way too many legends reppin' on there..

Top Shelf: BMW Concept C

YESSUH!!

Think scooters are not manly enough, and the only place one can get away with zipping around on a nifty little two-wheeler is somewhere in Rome or the Bahamas? Think again. If it were illegal for scooters to be pumped up with steroids, the new BMW Concept C big scooter will be the first to be incarcerated.
The new BMW Concept C scooter is a new addition to the BMW Motorrad family, and while these have the weighty handling of a motorcycle, it also has the agility and comfort of a scooter. As “C” stands for “commuter”, BMW hopes to offer an alternative transportation for those living in the urban area, as well as an option for those considering returning to motorcycles after a long period of abstinence.
Need we go on to mention the aesthetics of this scooter, which is far from a meek Vespa, and more of something from TRON (the blue grooves on the wheels definitely helps with the reference). The tripartite front keeps the bike distinctly BMW; and last but not least, these scooters also feature two LCD monitors in the cockpit which reports all data such as road speed and engine speed, that the rider needs to know. via: BMW blog
