Dopeness: Medicom Toy x Karimoku BE@RBRICK Indigo Paint 400%

Medicom Toy has once again teamed up with Japanese wooden furniture manufacturer Karimoku, this time on an Indigo Paint 400% BE@RBRICK. Handmade piece by piece by skilled craftsmen, the toy is made from Tohoku chestnut wood and is then indigo dyed using a special ancient method.

Originally green in color, the dye becomes dark blue when exposed to air, and when painted in layers takes on the look of vintage denim. Standing at 280mm, this limited edition can be pre-ordered up until May 31st from C.J.MART.

Architecture: Esquimalt House by Mcleod Bovell Modern Houses

Groovy..

Part domestic retreat, part workplace, part function room and religious worship area: the Esquimalt House by Mcleod Bovell Modern Houses is the very essence of a multi-purpose residence. Built on a high slope that overlooks Vancouver, the building is reached by a descending path that winds through a small orchard, down a set of stairs, and over a courtyard pool, highlighting its tranquil isolation from the street.

Inside, things are divided over two levels: the first being mainly open, designed for hosting large groups of people in periodic religious gatherings across the living room and stunning terrace; the second is used for family life. In addition to these, an independent work space is located adjacent to the rest of the house, allowing all three sides of life to exist independently, yet alongside each other.

Top Shelf: BMW Vision Future Luxury Concept

It’s no secret where our allegiance is by way of cars. So of course we have to show you that BMW has something rather special in the pipeline and here we take a closer look at it – the Vision Future Luxury Concept. We like the direction that BMW has been taking recently in terms of design.

The i3 and i8 electric cars came out great and this Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe inspired design now is also stunning and actually possibly not too far away from a production car. If the future of the BMW 7-Series looks like this, it is worth waiting for and certainly a strong competitor for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

Architecture: The Cubes House by Nestor Sandbank

Nestor Sandbank’s “The Cubes House” in Ramot Hashavim, Israel comprises various independent cubes standing alongside each other and joined by a transparent corridor. Functioning as the family’s children’s rooms, the cubes are joined to the main house while still allowing privacy.

A central double-height living area opens out to the pool and outdoor terrace, while the house’s L-shape wraps around the backyard. Large steel boulder sculptures decorate the backyard, while the crisp white and glass facade completes the futuristic design.

Fly Season: Black Scale x Gourmet Summer 2014 Footwear Collection

I’ve been a HUGE fan of Gourmet for years! I remember when I first started buying their stuff, I felt like I was in on some secret that no one else knew about. I actually put a lot of my friends up on them after awhile, and saw them enjoy a lot of what the line had to offer too. So it’s always dope to see them coming out with new pieces and collabos.

Continuing with what was started last year, Gourmet teams up with Black Scale on a new collaborative footwear collection for Summer 2014. The two brands present two new shoes for Summer 14, with the first being the Gourmet 35 Lite LX in python and white with imported python textured leather with highlighted Black Scale branding.

In addition to the 35, the pack includes the Quattro Skate 2. The shoe is built out of full grain leather with imported snake skin highlighted on the forefront and tongue with red BS branding found on the heel tab.
