The “Kenneth Laurent” House, which was designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright, is currently up for auction. The house was designed originally for a wheelchair bound veteran and was constructed between 1949 and 1952. At 2,500 square feet, the house features a unique ellipse form that is a motif throughout as well as three bedrooms and two bathrooms in the one-story structure, which of course would have been a beneficial affordance for a person in a wheelchair.
The Laurent family frequented Taliesin, Wright’s personal home in spring green, Wisconsin, which eventually led to the commission of the residence’s custom interior furnishings and later addition. The furniture in the home is also going to be included in the auction of this home, which sits on 1.3 acres of land, and is expected to sell between $500,000-$700,000 USD. The auction will take place on December 15.
