The thing about true American iconic shoes, is that they never need to be touched. We’ll take them in their original form for as long as they’re sold, and we love them just the way they are. But some can be updated to a more modern silhouette and not lose their coolness.
For N. Hoolywood’s newest footwear collaboration, the cult Japanese label looks to a true icon from the American sneaker canon. That shoe, is the checkerboard Slip-On from one of our all-time favorites, Vans, which arrives in neutral white/black and grey/black colorways.
The leather upper on each pair features a surprise detail: the raw-edged top portion of the tongue can be folded down, revealing black suede paneling underneath. A combination leather and canvas footbed -- featuring dual Vans and N. Hoolywood branding -- rounds out the details. Look for the kicks to launch tomorrow at select retailers.
