Architecture: The Pole House by F2 Architecture

Groovy..

There’s just something about having a home right on the coastline or the ocean. I’ve always wondered what it’d be like to be permanently located right on the water. Imagine waking up to it every morning. I don’t think anyone could ever be stressed with that kind of backdrop as a daily occurrence. Well, maybe that’s because I’m from the city, but I think it’d be pretty damn awesome.

Commonly referred to as the most photographed house on Great Ocean Road, The Pole House by F2 Architecture is one of Australia’s most iconic homes. Recently renovated, the new building now features brand new interiors with floor-to-ceiling retracting glass walls. The bathroom and supporting steel pole are concealed in a feature wall covered with warm burnt ash timber.

Outside, the walkway has also been transformed with glass balustrades, giving visitors the sense of walking on air. The Pole House by F2 Architecture is currently available for holiday rent through Great Ocean Road Holidays.
