One thing about unsung classic shoes that we love, is that they compliment iconic kicks so well. NikeLab has joined forces with Japanese fleece specialist Loopwheeler to create a special-edition Air Force 1 Ultraforce and Sock Dart, both featuring textile uppers made with loop wheel knitting machines.
Moreover, the material is finished in hand-dyed indigo, requiring an inventive process that uses two layers of fabric, one featuring dark indigo-dyed cotton on the toe and midsole of the Air Force 1, and on the toe and vamp of the Sock Dart. The other is indigo-dyed heathered white cotton, seen on the quarter panel of the Air Force 1 and the heel and tongue of the Sock Dart.
Both pairs are lined with heathered cotton for softness. Rounding out the details are a debossed Loopwheeler logo on the tongue loops of the Air Force 1 and Sock Dart. Both come with a cotton drawstring bag printed with Loopwheeler and Nike logos.
Look for the kicks to be available July 16th at nike.com/nikelab and NikeLab MA5 in Tokyo, and Loopwheeler stores in Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka.
Purposefully Fresh
