Fly Season: Adidas Originals - Spring/Summer 2010 - James Bond for David Beckham

Told y'all..

The global soccer sensation, David Beckham, is not just a superstar on field, but quite the charming athlete off the field as well as he had swept the fashion world by storm alongside wife Victoria Beckham (the former ultra-posh girl power advocate from Spice Girls). Veering away from high fashion and hitting a little closer to home with sportswear, David Beckham had been a loyal member of the adidas family for a long time, thus had been the easy and most fitting choice when adidas Originals was seeking collaborators for its Originals by Originals line. The collaboration with David Beckham also draws in James Bond from UNDFTD, as Beckham is a huge fan of UNDFTD and its products. The resulting collection is undeniably and delightfully American, paying tribute to all American heritage in casual sportswear, plus an added touch of luxurious simplicity.

Returning for a second season, adidas Originals by Originals James Bond for David Beckham collection is looking clean and pleasantly sophisticated in a cool palette of navy, white and grey, looking very much like the offspring of adidas SLVR and adidas Originals would look like. Other than a generously cut grey hooded number void of excessive branding as spotted on Beckham at the line’s launch party in 2009, the collection also features a classic khaki M65 field jacket of a slimmer cut donning a three-stripes piping down the zipper placket. Other sporting staples include roomy sweatpants with the adidas Originals logo, varsity jacket and logo tee with a number “7″ in the back (perhaps paying tribute to the player’s jersey number when he was with Manchester United). All in all, most of the items are fairly monochromatic and rid of blatant logos, thus easy to wear and classy without being overt. All in all, an enjoyable collection that can be easily matched and paired existing pieces in your wardrobe.
