In honor of Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera’s 2012 Triple Crown Victory, New Balance and Detroit sneaker boutique, Burn Rubber, have teamed up to create a limited edition Custom 574, aptly named “The Miggy.” “The Miggy” will be available beginning Monday April 8, exclusively at Burn Rubber. Paying homage to Cabrera’s 44 home runs, only 44 pairs of “The Miggy” will be released, for a suggested retail price of $150.
The shoe corresponds to a custom cleat that New Balance has created exclusively for Cabrera. To distinguish this 574, the woven tongue label features three crowns on the outside and Cabrera’s winning statistics on the inside.
To unveil the collaboration, New Balance and Burn Rubber will be hosting an invitation only viewing party at the Emagine Theatre in Royal Oak this Friday (4/5), to watch the Detroit Tigers Home Opening Day game.
