Jaguar recently gave a comprehensive unveiling of its upcoming 2014 XJR Super Saloon, including among performance details, a series of images and videos sure to delight those eagerly anticipating its arrival at the New York Motor Show on March 29. Touted as the first “R” model of its new XJ flagship sedan, the XJR is powered by a 542hp 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine that boasts 501 lb-ft of torque. Its 8-speed transmission allows the car to go from 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and top out at 174mph.
Its exterior is distinguished by unique body additions that includes a front splitter, “R” side sills, boot-lid spoiler, quad tailpipes and special “R” bonnet louvres. The interior features rich leather upholstery and carbon fiber or piano black veneers as well as a 380W 12-speaker Meridian surround-sound system, ensuring that the car is as fun to ride as it is to drive.
