Architecture: 2lb House by Raphael Nussbaumer Architectes

Situated on the slope of the Salève Mountain in Geneva, Switzerland, the 2lb House was designed for clients that were interested in Brazilian architecture. Raphael Nussbaumer Architectes were limited by tight design restrictions that are typical in Swiss regions today, posing an issue in building a contemporary residence on the very green plot of land.

Inspired by the mountainous region, the exposed concrete facade was designed to represent a solid mineral volume with the concrete being built in one single manufacturing process, adding to the monolithic design. Angular shapes and large glass panes create a retro-futuristic feel, while internally, clean white, chrome and light wood furnishings continue the space-age vibe.
