Architecture: The Beaumont House by Henri Cleinge

Digs..

Situated in a mixed use neighborhood, that sees residential duplexes coexisting with small to midsize industrial buildings, the Beamont by Henri Cleinge concrete house is a stunning exercise in both minimalist and highly sophisticated architecture. Taking full advantage of southern sunlight, the building features an elaborate groundplan that features one unit situated on the ground and second floor, and a second unit located on the second and third floor, allowing each unit exposure to three orientations rather than two.
The entire building’s exterior walls are made of concrete exposed to the exterior and interior, with insulation in the middle. A spacious double height living room features besides an abundance of natural light, a range of natural materials such walnut and cedar wood details contrasting the hard textured concrete walls.
