Architecture: Inside Look at Pinterest’s Sleek New Headquarters

One thing we’ve always loved, is a nice long look at someone else’s office. Call us nosey or simply inquisitive, but it’s even cooler when you’re able to check out the office of a company that you actually appreciate and support.

Earlier this year, Pinterest moved into their new headquarters in a renovated brick warehouse in San Francisco’s SoMa district. The new location features a pared-back design with large industrial windows, exposed wood beams and steel structures. Inside of the stripped down space, a grid of four white 20 x 20-foot cube-like “houses” function as multi-use meeting, working and gathering areas.

The hubs are designed to foster community and provide employees with various ways of working, from an open-floor plan, to small, quiet nooks. Inspired by the uncertain future of the startup world, the space was designed to be flexible like an information system with the ability to adapt as the company changes over time.
