Top Shelf: 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class | First Look

Mercedes-Benz has taken the wraps off the 2015 C-Class, which grows in size just a little bit – 3.7 inches longer and more than an inch wider — while also shedding 220 pounds versus the outgoing model. So while the car formerly known as the Baby Benz grows up, it also becomes more efficient, its aerodynamic design and new engine resulting in a 20% increase in fuel efficiency.

That engine comes in a 2.0-liter turbo four, which produces 235 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque (found on the C300 4Matic model), as well as a 3.0-liter turbo V6, good for 329 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque (available on the C400 4Matic). Both are connected to a seven-speed automatic gearbox and 4Matic all-wheel drive. Inside, the elegantly appointed cabin has a flowing center console highlighted by a 7- or 8.4-inch display, along with a quintet of retro air vents, touchpad controller and a heads-up display.
