Dopeness: Tennis Icon Andre Agassi Rejoins Nike

I remember back in the 90’s, when Tennis kicks used to be as popular as any other kind of shoe. Today, it’s J’s and Foams, back then, you could have on a cross trainer, but if it was dope, you were good. I remember havin’ a pair of Agassi’s back in like ’92 that I absolutely worshipped. The Nike Court Challenge’s! Years later, I was searching far and wide to find a new pair, just to put on ice and collect. I retired from collecting kicks without being able to find another pair. So the old pair remains my only pair in stock. They’re in rough condition, but stand as one of my favorite pairs of kicks of all-time.

So I was elated to hear that Nike has announced an exciting new chapter with sports icon Andre Agassi. The renewed partnership will focus on “a shared passion for tennis, along with a commitment to help kids become more active and realize their full potential through sports.” The collaboration is the latest in a long and successful relationship between Nike and Agassi that dates back 25 years.
Nike, Inc. co-founder and chairman Phil Knight expressed his excitement: “As one of the world’s greatest tennis players, Agassi embodied the passion, dedication and determination of the Nike brand. As a philanthropist and campaigner, he continues to share Nike’s commitment to inspire the young generation with his Just Do It spirit. We are honored to welcome him back.”
